Flying Paramedics – The new standard in the future

Flying Paramedics – The new standard in the future

Nobody ever likes to be in a situation where a Paramedic is required. However, whenever such situation occurs, everybody prefers the paramedic to be there instantly. In our hometown Toronto alone the Paramedic Service dispatches emergency vehicles to more than 220,000 emergencies annually. Like emergency services in many other countries, the Toronto Paramedic Service has to reach a certain response target: In 90% of the emergencies an ambulance has to be on the scene after maximum of 8 minutes 59 seconds. This is especially critical in about 80,000 urgent and potentially life-threatening emergencies – Unfortunately, those targets are not met […]

Airvinci – Graffiti Style

Airvinci – Graffiti Style

Here at Airvinci, we like to think outside the box. We like to think differently than any other aviation or drone company. Who would be crazy enough to think that they could revolutionize transportation? Well we did, and we are making it happen, as we speak. A couple of weeks ago, we came up with the cool idea to fuse street art and aviation together. And the end result was pretty amazing. SKAM + Airvinci = Awesomeness One of our team members has been long time friends with one of Toronto’s most famous graffiti artists who goes by the name […]

Airvinci @ UPAC Convention 2016 – Thank you!

Airvinci @ UPAC Convention 2016 – Thank you!

Last weekend, we were at the UPAC Convention 2016 in the scenic countryside of Bright, Ontario. Here is a short recap of our weekend: For us it was a very special weekend, as we were showing our prototype for the first time to a larger audience. At the show, we had many great conversations and gained even more motivation for upcoming work. Of course, as rookies at airshows, there were also a couple of key learnings for us to improve on for our next appearances. First, what is UPAC? UPAC (Ultralight Pilots Association of Canada) was created in 1986 to […]

Skydiving – The Airvinci Style

After Heli-Taxis, we want to present another super-exciting use for our Airvinci Helicopter: Skydiving! How does a skydive work? Nowadays, you have to drive to an airfield get a seat on a Cessna 182 or a Turboprop fly up to somewhere in between 9,500 to 14,000ft, jump off the plane, get thrilled by the free fall, open your parachute, enjoy the view, eventually land in the drop zone next to the airstrip, pack your parachute and drive back home. Now, imagine: You wouldn’t have to drive to an airport, but take off in your aircraft directly from home! On sunny […]

Drone Insurance – Yes It Exists!

Drone Insurance – Yes It Exists!

With the beautiful spring and summer weather upon us, it is now the ultimate time to play with your drones. As noted in Fortune Magazine the FAA had expected that over 1 million were going to be sold during the 2015 holiday season. If you were a lucky recipient, have you considered where it is legal to fly your drone and furthermore, insurance for it? Sounds crazy, but certainly worth some serious thought. Drone regulation in Canada and many other parts of the world is still evolving month by month and year by year. Military units use drones extensively in […]

Helicopter Taxi – Revolutionizing your Ride!

Helicopter Taxi – Revolutionizing your Ride!

What we are going to use our Helicopter for! In a new series, we want to present you potential uses of our helicopter more in depth. In this first article: the Helicopter Taxi! Thinking about how taxis work nowadays, there is already quite some improvements compared to maybe a decade ago. Back then you either had to go to a taxi stand, be lucky and flag one in the street or needed to have a number on hand to call one. At the end of each ride, there was the hassle with paying cash or drivers not having change. Even today, […]

Where the magic happens

Where the magic happens

Every new idea and technology starts somewhere. Often enough a determined inventor sits in his garage and works on his designs until late at night, investing all his time and all his money into the project in which he or she believes in. Sometimes, the garage also sees bad fights with the impatient investors or failures of parts and programs. Yet, in the end these garages and machine shops are the place where the magic happens. Eventually the inventor gets through with all the designs and trials and can present a revolutionary product to the public. Sometimes, it takes time […]
